Less than 2 percent of today's health plans for individuals meet the federal essential health benefits that will be required of all plans that begin next year and after, according to a study by HealthPocket.

The most common coverage gaps centered on pediatric dental and vision care and maternity coverage. Mental health coverage, especially for substance abuse treatment, was offered by about 60 percent of health plans.
