Gakin Healthcare Service is Prioritized

JPK Gakin1Jakarta Provincial Government put in effort to give healthcare services to the underprivileged citizens by handing out Underprivileged Family Cards (Gakin), Relief Letter (SKTM), and Citizens Health Warranty (Jamkesmas). Yet, even if they could get healthcare services for free at hospitals, they would get the same treatment as paying patients.

“Gakin patients have the same right as other patients. The Jamkesmas cards must be kept well, so when underprivileged citizens get sick, they could use it to get free of charge healthcare services at community health centers, hospitals, or other healthcare facilities,” stated Jakarta Governor Fauzi Bowo during suhoor gathering in RW 09 Palmeriam, Matraman, East Jakarta, Saturday (8/4).

Fauzi asked underprivileged citizens not to worry that they would not get the same treatment when using Jamkesmas card, because Jakarta Provincial Government will keep improving the healthcare services given to them.

On that occasion, the governor was also handing out 10 cards of the 12 years mandatory study, 10 Regional Citizens Health Warranty cards (Jamkesda), and donation for 10 orphans and underprivileged citizens. In addition, he also gave sporting equipment in the form of table tennis utilities so the locals could channel their hobbies positively.

“Jakarta Provincial Government is very concerned with the well-being of Gakin. In healthcare aspect, Gakin are given Jamkesmas cards, which could be used when they get sick,” said Fauzi.
